Can I become a member?
Of course! You can be an NWLA Lite member and access some useful information for free as well as attending two of our meetings. Or become a full member and get full access to out library, forums, meetings and advice.
I need to get in touch, what is the best way?
Do you represent property owners at a local level?
We are an Association for Private Landlords based in the North West of England. We have good working relationships with a variety of support services including local authorities and DWP managers. A large number of members own and rent property within these areas however we also have members who are based throughout the UK and also overseas.
Can you help me with legal advice?
We have an online legal advisor available to members as part of your membership. General legal queries can be submitted via email or telephone and an answer will be provided in most cases.
I need need help with the latest property regulations, can you help?
We will notify you of any updates on any new regulations and legal responsibilities as a landlord as part of your membership subscription.
We can help you with any questions you may have and direct you to a number of useful sources and documents so you can manage your rental properties with confidence.
Where and when are your local meetings and can I attend?
We held meetings Pre- Covid in person on a monthly basis alternating between our venues at Bolton Arena & Grosvenor Casino Salford. These are very popular and are generally held on the 1st Tuesday of the month in the evening.
These meetings proved a great way to interact with other landlords, network, and gain knowledge on a range of topics. Due to current restrictions, these meetings are unable to go ahead at this time, we hope that this is just a temporary pause and we will be able to meet again hopefully in the not too distant future. In light of this, we have hosted a number of live webinars throughout the year on topical subjects relating to the Private Rented Sector. These are free sessions as part of your membership fee and can be accessed from the comfort of your own home. These will continue throughout 2021 so watch out for the updates!
Do you offer a tenant referencing service?
We can currently provide members with Credit Reference Checks for their prospective tenants. An essential part of the application process, we offer two types of Credit Checks – either an Express reference which the results and report can be emailed to you on the same day or an Ultimate reference which is a more in-depth report, this includes additional employment and affordability checks as part of your vetting process.

I need a trusted tradesman. Can you recommend anyone?
We may be able to put you in touch with other members of the Association may be able to advise you of tradespersons they have used in your area previously and have found their work to be satisfactory.
How much does it cost to join?
The current cost of membership for your first 12 months is £95 for up to two people. Subsequent Annual renewal is priced at £80 a year for your membership.

What training courses do you offer?
We have previously hosted numerous in-person training sessions for landlords within the local area. We currently offer a variety of Online Training Sessions held at regular intervals, this is something we have had to adapt to this year to offer members a different way of learning.
Through this, we have found that hosting live webinars is a really good way of engaging with our members regardless of where you are based. This is a way of learning information and knowledge within the Private Rented Sector and we are looking forward to continuing to educate landlords in new and innovative ways in the future.
